The Washington Redskins' 68 players and 50 staff members generate 8,000 pounds of laundry per week. The team recently replaced its inefficient hard-mount laundry equipment with Continental soft-mount washer-extractors. The result was a substantial savings in time, labor and utilities. The new soft-mount washers extract water at 380 G-force, compared to the 90 G-force extract of the team's previous equipment, according to Equipment Manager Brad Berlin. They extract so much more water from each load, he says, they cut dry-time by nearly 60 percent. Before, the Redskins' were drying the laundry for 75-90 minutes at 200 degrees; now the load is completely dry in 30 minutes at 180 degrees. This saves time and energy!
