Tapping Into Commercial Business
A vended laundry is the perfect platform from which to launch commercial laundry services – and in doing so – harness yet another revenue stream. Your laundry has the equipment and labor in place, so why not busy them with commercial business during slow operating hours?
By processing commercial business, you have the potential to boost profits considerably – making more of your equipment and labor investment. Moreover, ramping profits positively impacts your vended laundry’s resale value.
Differentiating Your Laundry from the Competition
Competition presents ongoing challenges for many laundries. That’s why storeowners look for ways to make their businesses unique. By offering commercial laundry service – including wash/dry/fold and ironing – your laundry will stand apart.
Types of Commercial Accounts
There’s a wide array of commercial business out there, depending on your location. Check into serving area salons, moving companies, churches, vet clinics, hotels, healthcare facilities, B&Bs and property management companies.
New Equipment Investments for Bolstered Sales
Once you feel comfortable handling commercial laundry, consider new equipment investments to bolster revenue and profits further.
Adding a Continental Ironer
By installing a Continental Express Flatwork Ironer, your laundry can quickly iron bed linens, tablecloths, napkins and duvets – opening doors to new commercial business you couldn’t take on previously. Now you can handle accounts that require both ironing and wash/dry/fold, including spas, hotels, party rental customers and property management companies, among others.
Installed in a separate spot within your vended laundry, a Continental Express Flatwork Ironer only takes one operator and processes up to 49 feet-of-linen-per-minute. By harnessing a flatwork ironer, you will differentiate your laundry from its competitors. Additionally, you can capture finished flatwork business for the first time.
Boosting laundry productivity, the ironers allow one-pass ironing without dryer conditioning. This means items are fed directly from the washers through the ironers – saving time and improving production.
Adding an On-Premise E-Series Washer-Extractor
When you decide to take on food and beverage or healthcare accounts, in which linens are notoriously stained and greasy, consider purchasing an on-premise washer. You’ll need a highly programmable machine – separate from your vended washers – to tackle this type of laundry. Continental’s E-Series Washer-Extractor is a perfect fit. It offers a soft-mount design for simple installation, unrivaled programmability and high-speed extract reaching 387 G-force.
Superior Programmability A Must!
A highly programmable on-premise washer is a must for properly cleaning tablecloths, napkins, aprons, chef coats and table skirts. It’s also essential for the removal of blood and body fluids often found in healthcare laundry.
E-Series Washers offer three different programmable controls to properly clean food and beverage and healthcare laundry. The Inteli Control – the most advanced – allows complete control over the wash process. It features 20 pre-programmed cycles and up to 79 individually modifiable cycles. Control water temperature by degree, wash rotation speed and duration, wash rotation, water levels, bath cool-down by degree and extract speeds. The Inteli is so flexible, it can perform a wash cycle of as little as three minutes, or one lasting hours or days. An auxiliary heat option enables bath water temperatures to be increased by degree. Optional overnight soak and delayed start are also standard features.
